9 1ST ARGYLLSHIRE HIGHLANDERS. 15the general appearance of the regimentat the 1797.review this morning,and returns his thanks toBrigadier-General Camphelland Lieut.-ColonelKing for the attention that they appear to haveshown on this occasion, as well as at all othertimes, in disciplining and perfecting their regiment."On the9th of October the regiment marchedfrom Muysenberg to Simon's Town to protect thelatter placefrom some seamen of the fleet whohad mutinied. They returned to Muysenbergthree days later, and encamped there for sometime previous to again taking up their quartersin Cape Town on the 2nd of the followingJanuary.On the 27th of October orders were receivedthat the establishment of the regimentshould bereduced to 600 rank and file, which was accordinglydone ;but in August of the following yearit was again raised to 950 rank and file, withfullcomplementof officers and non-commissionedofficers.In October, 1798, the number of the regiment1793.was changed from the 98th to that of the 91st.The names of the .officers on the change ofnumbers was as follows :
