Quarter-master, 1st August, 1848. Tohalf-pay, 27th July, 1855.Blackwell, Thomas Eden. From 13th Foot, with which hehad served throughout <strong>the</strong> whole <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Burmese War, including <strong>the</strong><strong>ca</strong>pture <strong>of</strong> Rangoon (wounded, 1st December, 1824), and also at <strong>the</strong>storming <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> stockade <strong>of</strong> Kokaign, 15th December, 1825. Joined<strong>the</strong> <strong>91st</strong>, 12th August, 1834. Commanded <strong>the</strong> three companies leftat St. Helena in 1839, when <strong>the</strong> rest <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> regiment proceeded to <strong>the</strong>Cape <strong>of</strong> Good Hope, until 1842, when <strong>the</strong>y rejoined head-quartersRetired, 1843. Died at Bath, 22nd December, 1845.Blagg, James. Ensign, 10th November, 1854 ; lieutenant, 27thNovember, 1857. Served with <strong>the</strong> regiment in Greece and IonianIslands. Died at sea, 14th December, 1858.Blair, Thomas Hunter. Lieutenant, 14th September, 1804 ;<strong>ca</strong>ptain, 28th March, 1805 ; major, 8th January, 1818. Served with <strong>the</strong>regiment at Roleia, Vimiero, Corunna, and was left behind in Portugalin 1808 when <strong>the</strong> regiment returned to England ; present at <strong>the</strong> battle<strong>of</strong> Talavera as major <strong>of</strong> brigade, when he was severely wounded andmade prisoner ;was not released until 1814. Present at Waterloo asmajor <strong>of</strong> brigade, when he was again wounded, and received a brevet<strong>of</strong> lieutenant-colonel for his "meritorious conduct." To <strong>the</strong> 87thFoot, 1st April, 1819. 21
