The following morning an unfortunateaccident happened, which was caused by a picquetof the 91st,under command of Captain Prevost,who, thinking they saw Zulus creepingin thebushes in front of them, fired, which raised analarm in the campand made the scouts andpicquets run in.They were fired on by the 60thtrench party, who mistook them for the enemy inthe darkness. Fifteen were wounded in this unfortunatebusiness. The march was resumed at9 o'clock, and the laager at Ginginhlovo wasreached in the afternoon ;but it was found tohave become very unpleasant, owingto the frightfulsmell from the number of dead buried in itsvicinity.So a new laager was formed about twomiles from the old camp, on a piece of risingground.
