Gordon Fallowfield, who <strong>ca</strong>rried<strong>the</strong> colour, <strong>the</strong> third <strong>of</strong>ficerbeing LieutenantGrant, who had served twenty-eight years in <strong>the</strong>regiment. After being inspected, <strong>the</strong>y marched<strong>of</strong>f for Windsor, to <strong>the</strong> tune <strong>of</strong> " Haste to <strong>the</strong>Wedding," amidst <strong>the</strong> encouragingcheers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ircomrades, reaching <strong>the</strong>ir destination at 4 p.m.,having performed <strong>the</strong> distance <strong>of</strong> twenty milesin seven hours.
