This was againchanged in December, when the service companieswere reduced to 600 rank and file, while thedepot had 400.1857. The companies remained at Berwick until the3rd of March, when they received orders to goto Preston to be incorporated with the depotbattalion commanded by Lieutenant-ColonelSmith, C.B.
