There is also a picture <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> regimentformed in line in <strong>the</strong> square <strong>of</strong> James Town, with<strong>the</strong> procession passing between <strong>the</strong> ranks.In March, 1875,<strong>the</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mint inParis addressed a letter to Major Battiscombe, atthattime in command <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>91st</strong>, <strong>of</strong> which <strong>the</strong>followingis a translation :"I hasten to inform you that <strong>the</strong> Director <strong>of</strong><strong>the</strong> Mint ishappy to place at your disposal aspecimen, in bronze, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> medal which hedesires to be <strong>of</strong>fered to <strong>the</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>91st</strong>Regiment, in remembrance <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> memorable eventwhich it commemorates, and in which <strong>the</strong> regi-
