THE 91st remained in Dublin until July, 1820,when itproceeded to Enniskillen, furnishing detachmentsto the countiesof Cavan, Leitrim, andDonegal. Orders having been received in June,1821. 1821, that the regiment should prepare to proceedto Jamaica from the Clyde, the 91st embarked onthe 18th at Donaghadee for Fort Patrick, andmarched to Glasgow, where itarrived on the 27thand 28th. The regiment was here inspected bySir T. Bradford, and on the 5th of Novemberthe first division, consisting of the grenadiers,2nd, 3rd, and 4th companies, with part of the6th company, embarked at the Broomielawon board steamboats, which conveyed them toGreenock, where they were transhipped intotransport brigs Brilliant and LoyaltheBriton for1822. During1832.this period the regimentwas several times calledupon to assist the civil authorities at the elections,and often had to perform the most harassingduties. Notwithstanding this, no irregularitytook place on their part, nor was the slightestcomplaint ever preferred against them.For thiscreditable conduct the regiment was highlycomplimented. In 1833 the 91st was at Naas 1833.and Fermoy, and nothing appears to have occurredduring the remainder of its stayin Ireland.In this year the names of the battles of Roleia,Yimiero, and Corunna were ordered to be put onthe regimental colours.In 1835, the regiment having received instruc- 1835 -tions to hold itself in readiness to embark for St.Helena, a regimental depot was formed, and onthe 29th of October head-quarters, consisting offour companies under the command of MajorLamont, moved to Cork, occupying the barracksthere until the necessary arrangements weremade for embarkation.In November the regiment embarked in twodetachments from the Cove of Cork, sailing onthe 1st of December, and arriving at the island ofSt. Helena on the 26th of February, 1836.1836 '6
