The college workswith the prison to provide vocationalclasses in masonry, electricalwiring, plumbing, heating and airconditioning/refrigeration repair,computer science, digital electronicrepair, horticulture, and food service.Johnston Community Collegealso provides academic classes inadult education and preparation forGED and GED tests are available.College Correspondence Coursesare also available.Inmates may also take part inself-help programs such as AlcoholicsAnonymous, Narcotics Anonymous,DART Aftercare, AngerManagement, Stress Management,Communication Skills Training andSleep Hygiene. Substance abuseprograms include “Big Book Study”and “Twelve-Step Program.” Cognitivebehavior programs include“Thinking for a Change.” Ethicsprograms include “CharacterEducation” and “Napoleon Hill”programs.
