5 <strong>Optimization</strong> ToolThegraphicaboveshowstheplotfunctionsavailableforthefmincon defaultsolver.Output functionOutput function is a function or collection of functions the algorithm calls ateach iteration. Through an output function you have access to optimizationquantities such as function values, gradient values, and current iteration.Specify no output function, a single output function using a function handle,or multiple output functions. To provide more than one output function usea cell array of function handles in the Custom function field, for exampleby typing:{@outputfcn,@outputfcn2}For more information on writing an output function, see “Output Function”on page 6-16.Display to Command WindowSelect Level of display to specify the amount of information displayed whenyou run the algorithm. Choose from the following:• off (default) — Display no output.5-40
Specifying the Options• final — Display only the reason for stopping at the end of the run.• notify — Display output only if the function does not converge.• iterative — Display information at each iteration of the algorithm.Set Node interval, withthebintprog solver selected, to specify the intervalof explored nodes you want to display output for. Note that integer feasiblesolution nodes are always shown.Selecting Show diagnostics lists problem information and options that havechanged from the defaults.The graphic below shows the display options.5-41
