5 Optimization ToolSpecifying the OptionsTo specify options for the selected solver, use the Options pane. The optionslisted here correspond to the options structure defined by the optimsetfunction available for a solver. TheOptimization Tool uses the following criteria:• Max iterations specifies the maximum number of iterations the algorithmperforms.• Max function evaluations specifies the maximum number of evaluationsof the objective and constraint functions the algorithm performs.• Max nodes specifies the maximum number nodes the bintprog solverexplores.• Time limit (seconds) specifies the maximum time in seconds thealgorithm runs before stopping. This also includes any specified pausetime for the algorithm.5-30
Specifying the Options• Xtolerancespecifies the termination tolerance for X.• Function tolerance specifies the termination tolerance for the objectivefunction value.• Nonlinear constraint tolerance specifies the termination tolerance forthe maximum nonlinear constraint violation.The graphic above shows the stopping criteria options available for thefmincon default solver.5-31
