The DrawWhen the number of hunt permits for a speciesin a particular area must be limited to preventover-harvest of wildlife, the Commission Ordergoverning seasons for that species assignsa hunt number to a designated area, <strong>and</strong> ahunt permit-tag is required to take that speciesin that area. <strong>Hunt</strong> permit-tags are issuedthrough a computerized r<strong>and</strong>om drawing. Biggame tags not issued through the drawing processare nonpermit-tags.QualificationsIndividuals wishing to participate in a drawingor to obtain bonus points must apply onlineor in writing using the <strong>Hunt</strong> Permit-tag ApplicationForm, <strong>and</strong> submit the form by thedeadline specified in the <strong>Hunt</strong> Permit-tag ApplicationSchedule found in the current year’shunt regulations (page 12).An applicant must possess a license (includinglifetime, pioneer or disabled veteran’s) that isvalid on the last day of the application deadlinefor that draw. Youth applying for big gamehunts must be licensed. If an applicant doesnot have a license that meets that requirement,he or she must purchase the license at the timeof application. An applicant must submit the information<strong>and</strong> fees required for a license oneach paper application submitted. Only onelicense will be issued. License refunds will bemade for additional applications. Licenses willnot be issued until the draw occurs.Applying for a <strong>Hunt</strong>The online application service will be availableearly to mid-January please see page 10 or visitazgfd.gov/draw for more information.Paper applications for hunt permit-tags mustbe made on <strong>Hunt</strong> Permit-tag Application Formsavailable at Department offices, website, <strong>and</strong>license dealers. Please use the current year’sapplication form, that is WHITE in color. donot cut or alter application form. Applicationsnot prepared in a legible manner maybe deemed not valid <strong>and</strong> shall be rejected asspecified in R12-4-104(O). Use st<strong>and</strong>ard blueor black ink (no gel ink).No more than four people may apply on oneapplication in one envelope. All applicants in agroup must apply for the same hunt number(s)<strong>and</strong> in the same order of preference on thesame form.Draw <strong>Information</strong>No person, including juniors, may submit morethan one valid application per genus of wildlifein any calendar year, except as specified inR12-4-104(L), when genera are drawn in multipledrawings; however the annual bag limitstill applies.Each applicant shall complete only one blockper application.No more than one genus may be included oneach <strong>Hunt</strong> Permit-tag Application Form. use aseparate form, payment <strong>and</strong> envelope foreach genus of wildlife you wish to hunt. morethan one (1) application in an envelope mayresult in rejection of all applications. You canlist a general hunt as your first choice <strong>and</strong> anotherweapon type hunt for the same genus asanother choice on the same application—justbe sure they are in the same numerical series.Use only one application per genus, even if youare mixing weapon choices.<strong>Hunt</strong> Permit, Bonus PointsDisclaimerThe issuance of any big game permit has noexpress or implied guarantee or warranty ofhunter success. Any person holding a valid permitassumes the risk that circumstances beyondthe control of the <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Game</strong> <strong>and</strong> Fish Departmentmay prevent the permit holder fromusing the permit. In such situations, the <strong>Arizona</strong><strong>Game</strong> <strong>and</strong> Fish Department disclaims anyresponsibility to reissue or replace a permit, toreinstate bonus points or to refund any fees,except under specific circumstances, such asactivation of military or emergency personnel,as stated in R12-4-107(L).Fees<strong>Information</strong> about fees associated with the onlinedraw process may be found on page 10.When submitting paper applications, each applicantshall enclose the following fees:1. The fee for the appropriate hunt permit-tag,which includes the permit application fee.2. Fee for a hunting or combination hunt <strong>and</strong>fish license, if a license is requested. Be sureto enclose license fees on each application,if required, for each person who is applyingon the application for a license. Only one licensewill be issued per person.3. discounted hunt permit-tag fees arefor “Juniors-only” designated hunts.A youth must pay the higher fee unlessapplying only for “Juniors-only” hunts.Each payment enclosed with a hunt permit-tagapplication shall be made by certified check, cashier’scheck, money order, or personal checkor draft payable to the <strong>Arizona</strong> <strong>Game</strong> <strong>and</strong> FishDepartment. Cash will not be accepted <strong>and</strong> willresult in rejection.One personal check or money order can coverall fees for each application, or separate checksor money orders may be submitted in one envelopefor each individual applicant.The permit <strong>and</strong> license fees are specified inthe fee schedule on page 7. The hunt permittagfees on page 7 include the non-refundableapplication fee.Submitting ApplicationsThe online application service will be availablein early to mid-January. Please check the Department’swebsite or sign up for free e-newslettersfor regular updates. You can register for e-newsat www.azgfd.gov/signup.Attention online applicants: deadline forupdating your credit or debit card informationonline is 11:59 p.m. (mst) sunday,march 9, 2014.Applications (except first-come, s<strong>and</strong>hill crane,<strong>and</strong> raptor applications) may be h<strong>and</strong>-deliveredto Department offices in Phoenix, Mesa,Tucson, Flagstaff, Pinetop, Kingman, or Yuma.Mailed applications must be sent only to theDepartment’s Phoenix Office at P.O. Box 74020,Phoenix, AZ 85087-1052. On deadline days, Departmentbusiness offices close at 5:00 p.m.(MST), but applications can be delivered todrop boxes until 7:00 p.m. (MST). Drop boxesare locked promptly at 7:00 p.m. (MST). All applicationsmust be received by the Departmentbefore the deadline. Deadlines for submissionare specified in the <strong>Hunt</strong> Permit-tag ApplicationSchedule on page 12. postmarks don’t count.Applications will be accepted as soon asthe applicable year’s hunt regulations areavailable.
