APPENDIX NContract/ Voluntary Recognition Agreement(See Article E102)STANDARD CONTRACT/ VOLUNTARY RECOGNITIONAGREEMENT FOR CORPORATE PRODUCTION: SPONSORED,INDUSTRIAL OR SHORT FILMSPrior to contracting a Writer, Producers who agree to become parties to thisAgreement shall sign a Voluntary Recognition Agreement as follows ontheir own letterhead and forward it to the Guild. This VoluntaryRecognition Agreement shall constitute a binding and irrevocable obligationby the Producer to the terms and conditions of this Agreement where suchProducer is involved in the production of a program:VOLUNTARY RECOGNITION AGREEMENT(Bargaining Authorization and Voluntary Recognition Agreement)I, _________________________(Insert name of individual) on behalf ofthe Producer hereby acknowledge receipt of the Independent ProductionAgreement dated November 1, 2012 to December 31, 2014 coveringFreelance Writers of Theatrical Films, and Television Programs and otherProduction between the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA),Association des Producteurs de Films et Télévision du Québec (APFTQ)and the Writers Guild of Canada (the Guild) and state that I am authorizedto execute this Agreement on behalf of___________________________________________________________,(the “Producer”).The Producer hereby acknowledges that by executing this VoluntaryRecognition Agreement it is becoming signatory to the said Agreement.The Producer agrees to abide by and conform to all the terms and conditionscontained herein.The Producer recognizes that the Guild is the exclusive bargaining agent ofWriters, Story Editors and Story Consultants as defined in the IPA andrecognizes the Producers’ Association of which it is a member as theProducer’s sole and exclusive bargaining agent.209
