AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTORSHANDBOOK-FOR NCAR 145/66/147/M53.2 It is recommended that a simple exposition status sheet is maintained whichcontains information on when an amendment was received by the CAAN andwhen it was approved.53.3 The CAAN will define the minor amendments to the exposition which may beincorporated through indirect approval. In this case a procedure will be stated inthe amendment section <strong>of</strong> the approved continuing airworthiness managementexposition.Changes notified in accordance with NCAR M.A.713 are not considered minor.For all cases other than minor, the applicable part(s) <strong>of</strong> the CAAN Form 13 willbe used for the change.53.4 The approved continuing airworthiness management organisation will submiteach exposition amendment to the CAAN whether it be an amendment forCAAN approval or an indirectly approved amendment. Where the amendmentrequires CAAN approval, the CAAN when satisfied, will indicate its approval inwriting. Where the amendment has been submitted under the indirect approvalprocedure the CAAN will acknowledge receipt in writing.54. Revocation, suspension and limitation <strong>of</strong> an approval (NCAR M.B.707)The CAAN will:(a) suspend an approval on reasonable grounds in the case <strong>of</strong> potential safety threat,or;(b) suspend, revoke or limit an approval pursuant to NCAR M.B.705.55. Assessment <strong>of</strong> recommendations (NCAR M.B.901)Upon receipt <strong>of</strong> an application and associated airworthiness review certificaterecommendation in accordance with NCAR M.A.901:55.1 Appropriate qualified personnel from the CAAN will verify that the compliancestatement contained in the recommendation demonstrates that a completeNCAR M.A.710 airworthiness review has been carried out.55.2 The CAAN will investigate and may request further information to support theassessment <strong>of</strong> the recommendation.56. Assessment <strong>of</strong> recommendations (AMC M.B.901)56.1 The result <strong>of</strong> the verification and the investigation <strong>of</strong> a recommendation will besent to the applicant within 30 days. If corrective action has been requestedbefore the issuance <strong>of</strong> an airworthiness review certificate, the CAAN maydecide a further period for the assessment <strong>of</strong> the requested corrective action.July 2012 Page 80
