AIRWORTHINESS INSPECTORSHANDBOOK-FOR NCAR 145/66/147/M49.3 At the successful conclusion <strong>of</strong> the audit(s) including verification <strong>of</strong> theexposition, an audit report form will be completed by the auditing surveyorincluding all recorded findings, closure actions and recommendation. A CAANForm 13 will be used for this activity.49.4 Credit may be claimed by the CAAN Surveyor(s) for specific item auditscompleted during the preceding 23 month period subject to four conditions:(a) the specific item audit will be the same as that required by M.A. Subpart G latestamendment, and(b) there will be satisfactory evidence on record that such specific item audits werecarried out and that all corrective actions have been taken, and(c) the CAAN surveyor(s) will be satisfied that there is no reason to believe standardshave deteriorated in respect <strong>of</strong> those specific item audits being granted a back credit;(d) the specific item audit being granted a back credit will be audited not later than 24months after the last audit <strong>of</strong> the item.49.5 When an operator sub-contracts continuing airworthiness management tasks allsub-contracted organisations will also be audited by the CAAN <strong>of</strong> operator atperiods not exceeding 24 months (credits per paragraph 4 above are permitted)to ensure they fully comply with M.A. Subpart G. For these audits, the CAANauditing surveyor will always ensure that he/she is accompanied throughout theaudit by a senior technical member <strong>of</strong> the operator. All findings will be sent toand corrected by the operator.49.6 When performing the oversight <strong>of</strong> organisations that hold both M.A. Subpart Fand M.A. Subpart G approvals, the CAAN will arrange the audits to cover bothapprovals avoiding duplicated visit <strong>of</strong> a particular area.50. Findings (NCAR M.B.705)50.1 When during audits or by other means evidence is found showing noncomplianceto the <strong>Part</strong>-M requirement, the CAAN will take the followingactions:(a) For level 1 findings, immediate action will be taken by the CAAN to revoke, limitor suspend in whole or in part, depending upon the extent <strong>of</strong> the level 1 finding,the continuing airworthiness management organisation approval, until successfulcorrective action has been taken by the organisation.(b) For level 2 findings, the CAAN will grant a corrective action period appropriate tothe nature <strong>of</strong> the finding that will not be more than three months. In certaincircumstances, at the end <strong>of</strong> this first period, and subject to the nature <strong>of</strong> thefinding the CAAN can extend the three month period subject to a satisfactorycorrective action plan.July 2012 Page 78
