MPU-6000MPU-6050MPU-6000/MPU-6050 Product SpecificationDocument Number: PS-MPU-6000A-00Revision: 1.0Release Date: 11/24/2010changes due to package thermo-mechanical stress. There is no electrical connection between the pad andthe CMOS.12.4.3 Trace RoutingTesting indicates that 3-Volt peak-to-peak signals run under the gyro package or directly on top of thepackage of frequencies from DC to 1MHz do not affect the operation of the MEMS gyro. However, routingtraces or vias under the MEMS gyro package, such that they run under the exposed die pad, is prohibited.12.4.4 Component PlacementDo not place large insertion components such as keyboard or similar buttons, connectors, or shielding boxesat a distance of less than 6 mm from the MEMS gyro. Maintain generally accepted industry design practicesfor component placement near the MPU-60X0 to prevent noise coupling and thermo-mechanical stress.12.4.5 PCB Mounting and Cross-Axis SensitivityOrientation errors of the gyroscope mounted to the printed circuit board can cause cross-axis sensitivity inwhich one gyro responds to rotation about another axis, for example, the X-axis gyroscope responding torotation about the Y or Z axes. The orientation mounting errors are illustrated in the figure below.ΦZYΘXPackage Gyro Axes ( ) Relative to PCB Axes ( ) with Orientation Errors (Θ and Φ)The table below shows the cross-axis sensitivity as a percentage of the specified gyroscope’s sensitivity for agiven orientation error.Cross-Axis Sensitivity vs. Orientation ErrorOrientation ErrorCross-Axis Sensitivity(θ or Φ)(sinθ or sinΦ)0º 0%0.5º 0.87%1º 1.75%CONFIDENTIAL & PROPRIETARY 44 of 53
