5:30 pm – Board Appreciation Dinner @ Gunter Elementary School
6:15 pm – Kerfoot Meeting
The Board conducted the January Kerfoot meeting to approve scholarships. Over 39 $500.00 scholarships were requested along with
22 $750.00 scholarships. A total of $36,500 was requested in Kerfoot scholarships for the fall semesters. The board approved the
scholarship monies to be paid.
6:30pm – Regular Board Meeting @ Gunter Elementary School
AUDIT REPORT:
Steve Davis from Morgan, Davis and Co was present to go over the financial audit for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. Mr. Davis reported
that through the independent audit report that there were no findings related to the financial statements which are required to be reported
in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
RECOGNITIONS: Each campus presented items of appreciation to the board for the hard work and dedication toward the students and staff
of GISD.
Gunter Elementary: 7 books were donated to the Gunter Elementary Library in each board members name.
Gunter Middle School: 7 goodie bags were given to the board members. Each goodie bag had gifts donated by the Gunter Middle
School teachers. Gunter Middle School students gave big cards of appreciation to the board members.
Gunter High School: Each board member received a can of popcorn. The Gunter High School staff made donations to “Hoops for
Hope” in each board members name to continue the fight against cancer.
SUPERINTENDENT REPORT
Financial Report was given.
Budget Report was given for December, 2010: Revenue and Expenditure Reports, Lunchroom Revenue and Expenditure Report,
Revenue Prior Year Comparison.
Investment Summary Report: General operating report, Interest and sinking report, Grayson County COOP report, Workers
Compensation report.
Current Enrollment Update: GISD enrollment count: 804, High School –270, Middle School – 259, Elementary – 275. Enrollment is
up 23 students for the August projections
ADA and FTE Summary Report: ADA – 754 through the 3 rd Six Weeks
COMMUNICATIONS REPORT
February Board Meeting: Thursday February 17 @ 6 pm
Chamber Banquet: Thursday February 24 @ 6:30 pm (The Bridges)
March Board Meeting: Thursday March 24 @ 6 pm
CONSENT AGENDA/ROUTINE BUSINESS
Minutes and Billing were approved from December 2010.
REGULAR BUSINESS
The Board approved the 2009-2010 Audit as presented by Steve Davis
The Board approved to un-designate the unreserved fund balance to general fund.
The Board approved the resolution that would allow Steve Smith, Board President to sign the joint election agreement with the city
of Gunter.
The Board approved the “Joint Election Agreement” between the city of Gunter and Gunter Independent School District.
PERSONNEL
Superintendent Evaluation and Contract: The board conducted the annual evaluation of the Superintendent and extended his contract.
