5:30 pm – Board Appreciation Dinner @ <strong>Gunter</strong> Elementary School<br />
6:15 pm – Kerfoot Meeting<br />
<strong>The</strong> Board conducted the January Kerfoot meeting to approve scholarships. Over 39 $500.00 scholarships were requested along with<br />
22 $750.00 scholarships. A total of $36,500 was requested in Kerfoot scholarships for the fall semesters. <strong>The</strong> board approved the<br />
scholarship monies to be paid.<br />
6:30pm – Regular Board Meeting @ <strong>Gunter</strong> Elementary School<br />
AUDIT REPORT:<br />
Steve Davis from Morgan, Davis and Co was present to go over the financial audit for the 2009-2010 fiscal year. Mr. Davis reported<br />
that through the independent audit report that there were no findings related to the financial statements which are required to be reported<br />
in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.<br />
RECOGNITIONS: Each campus presented items of appreciation to the board for the hard work and dedication toward the students and staff<br />
of G<strong>ISD</strong>.<br />
<strong>Gunter</strong> Elementary: 7 books were donated to the <strong>Gunter</strong> Elementary Library in each board members name.<br />
<strong>Gunter</strong> Middle School: 7 goodie bags were given to the board members. Each goodie bag had gifts donated by the <strong>Gunter</strong> Middle<br />
School teachers. <strong>Gunter</strong> Middle School students gave big cards of appreciation to the board members.<br />
<strong>Gunter</strong> High School: Each board member received a can of popcorn. <strong>The</strong> <strong>Gunter</strong> High School staff made donations to “Hoops for<br />
Hope” in each board members name to continue the fight against cancer.<br />
SUPERINTENDENT REPORT<br />
Financial Report was given.<br />
Budget Report was given for December, 2010: Revenue and Expenditure Reports, Lunchroom Revenue and Expenditure Report,<br />
Revenue Prior Year Comparison.<br />
Investment Summary Report: General operating report, Interest and sinking report, Grayson County COOP report, Workers<br />
Compensation report.<br />
Current Enrollment Update: G<strong>ISD</strong> enrollment count: 804, High School –270, Middle School – 259, Elementary – 275. Enrollment is<br />
up 23 students for the August projections<br />
ADA and FTE Summary Report: ADA – 754 through the 3 rd Six Weeks<br />
COMMUNICATIONS REPORT<br />
February Board Meeting: Thursday February 17 @ 6 pm<br />
Chamber Banquet: Thursday February 24 @ 6:30 pm (<strong>The</strong> Bridges)<br />
March Board Meeting: Thursday March 24 @ 6 pm<br />
CONSENT AGENDA/ROUTINE BUSINESS<br />
Minutes and Billing were approved from December 2010.<br />
REGULAR BUSINESS<br />
<strong>The</strong> Board approved the 2009-2010 Audit as presented by Steve Davis<br />
<strong>The</strong> Board approved to un-designate the unreserved fund balance to general fund.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Board approved the resolution that would allow Steve Smith, Board President to sign the joint election agreement with the city<br />
of <strong>Gunter</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Board approved the “Joint Election Agreement” between the city of <strong>Gunter</strong> and <strong>Gunter</strong> Independent School District.<br />
PERSONNEL<br />
Superintendent Evaluation and Contract: <strong>The</strong> board conducted the annual evaluation of the Superintendent and extended his contract.<br />
FUTURE BUSINESS: Next Board Meeting – February 17, 2011<br />
ADJOURNMENT: Regular meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:15 pm.<br />
