Most became members when they were christenedas children.If you have moved to Denmark from abroad and wouldlike to join the Danish National Church, there are severaloptions open to you:• If you are a member of another Evangelical Lutherancommunity other than the Danish National Churchand make this clear, you will be registered as a memberof the Danish National Church at the same time as youare registered in the Danish national register.• If you have been christened but not by an EvangelicalLutheran religious community, you can become amember of the Danish National Church by contactingthe priest in your local community.• If you have not been christened, you can become amember of the Danish National Church by allowingyourself to be christened.If you do not want to become a member of the DanishNational Church, you can cancel your membership bycontacting the priest in your local community.127
