Foundation Training, VRQ Certificate <strong>and</strong>Diploma in Youth WorkWe offer two different levels of training for part time workers who want to gain a youthwork qualification, after <strong>com</strong>pleting their foundation training. A discussion needs to takeplace with the Line Manager to identify which level of training is appropriate.Foundation TrainingFor Newly Appointed Youth WorkersVRQ Level 2 Certificate in Youth WorkFor P/T Youth Workers who have <strong>com</strong>pleted theirInduction <strong>and</strong> have at least 6 months youth work experience.VRQ Level 3 Diploma in Youth WorkFor P/T Workers who have <strong>com</strong>pleted Level 2 (or who c<strong>and</strong>emonstrate <strong>com</strong>petence at Level 2) <strong>and</strong> who are required totake responsibility for some areas of work in their centres.The VRQ qualification aims to improve the service to young people by providing anaward that embraces national st<strong>and</strong>ards for the practice of youth <strong>and</strong> <strong>com</strong>munity work,which is also recognised by other agencies.To apply for a place on the Level 2 Certificate or Level 3 Diploma in Youth WorkQualification course you need to <strong>com</strong>plete the application form at the back of thisbooklet <strong>and</strong> return it to:Jean Arnold, Dorset Youth <strong>and</strong> Community Service, Hammick House,Bridport Road, Poundbury, Dorchester.
