Here are also many thrivingassociations. The compact layout of a small town meansthat everything is within easy reach, with a bustling andwell-ordered town centre. Vaggeryd is perfect for cycling,with its many cycle tracks.HORSE PROFILEThe municipality has a distinct horseprofile, which has attracted manycompanies and private individualswith an equestrian interest. VaggerydHorse Clinic opened in 2009, next toVaggeryd Horse Racing Track – nowthe most frequented in the county.Building plots of 2 to 4 hectares,especially suitable for families (withor without children) with an interestin animals, are available close to thewestern shore of Lake Hjortsjön,within cycling distance to schoolsand other services.WATERSIDE LIVINGVaggeryd’s location near lake and river means that we can offer many unique watersidehousing environments. Lake Hjortsjön, highly attractive for swimming andfishing, characterises the western part of town. In the eastern part, the river Laganmeanders through leafy parks and residential areas. In Vaggeryd, you’re close to everything. The shops have generous opening hours and a wide selection – and everycustomer is treated well. Plenty of central parking makes shopping easy. Other services are divided between the twotowns in the municipality, Skillingaryd and Vaggeryd, approximately 10 kilometres apart. At Folkets Hus in Vaggerydyou find the only cinema in the municipality. Fenix Kultur- & Kunskapscentrum, the municipal adult education centreand upper secondary school, is also located in Vaggeryd. Just outside the town centre is one of the municipality’sprofile companies, Swedese, known among other things for reproducing the Lamino chair – voted the 20th Century’sBest Swedish Furniture Design. You have to count on queuing for hours before the doors open for their annual saleat bargain prices!
