V-CAN II Headphone AmplifierInstructionsIntroductionThank you for purchasing the V-CAN IIheadphone amplifier. We sincerely hope thatit will bring you many years of outstandinglistening pleasure.Installation PrecautionsYour new V-CAN II is designed and built toprovide trouble-free performance, but as withall electronic devices, it is necessary toobserve a few precautions:Do not use the V-CAN II near water. The unitmust not be exposed to dripping or splashingand no objects filled with liquids, such asvases, must be placed on the unit.Keep the V-CAN II away from heat such asradiators. No naked flame sources, such aslighted candles, should be placed on theunit.Power Supply Note:Only use approved Musical Fidelity DCpower supply. The use of other adaptors orsupplies could seriously damage the V-CAN II .This Hi-fi product has been tested to ensurethat its operation is not adversely affected bynormal background levels of RadioFrequency Interference (R.F.I.), and that itdoes not itself generate excessive amountsof interference. However, if a problempersists, please contact your Musical Fidelityagent.Never open the case of the V-CAN II yourself,as this will invalidate the guarantee.Place all connecting cables where they arenot likely to be walked on or trapped byitems placed on them.The V-CAN II will operate in accordance withits specifications within the followingenvironmental range:Temperature 5 to 45 degrees CelsiusHumidity 10 to 90% non condensingThere are no user adjustments inside.Please refer all service work to anauthorised Musical Fidelity agent.ConnectionsAll connections must be made before themains adaptor is plugged in, and before anyamplifier connected is switched on. Alwaysswitch off the equipment attached to the V-CAN II before connecting or disconnectingpower, changing leads or inputs.InputsUsing good quality RCA leads (notsupplied), connect the left and right outputsfrom a CD player or other audio source tothe V-CAN II LINE INPUT sockets. Ifconnecting into an existing system, the V-CAN II can conveniently be connected to theTAPE REC outputs of any pre- or integratedamplifier. If the TAPE REC outputs are stillrequired by e.g. tape or CD recorder, thenthe LINE OUT of the V-CAN II replicates theoriginal TAPE REC output and can be usedaccordingly.OutputsTwo headphone sockets are available toallow a greater range of headphones to beused without need of adaptors. Connectheadphones into the correct output socket ofthe V-CAN II .PowerPlug the DC connector lead from the powersupply unit into the V-CAN II power inletsocket, and plug the adaptor itself into aconvenient wall mains outlet.
