NewsLegacy givingWhile 74% of the UK populationgives financial support to charities,only 7% leave a legacy to them.Remember A Charity Week runsfrom 17–23 September and aims toencourage people to consider leavinga gift to charity in their will.At <strong>Macmillan</strong>, legacies and gifts inwills account for more than a third ofour total income – without these, wewouldn’t be able to fund the amazingwork you do in supporting peopleaffected by cancer.Gifts in wills don’t have to be large;they come in all shapes and sizes.In 2011, our legacies ranged from£50–£3.4 million.
