Ōtorohanga District <strong>Council</strong>Water assets include two treatment plants, one bore, four reservoirs, four rural supplyschemes and 42km of mains. 218 Significant upgrading of water treatment plants wasplanned for compliance with drinking water standards by July 2012. 219 There has beenan active programme of water main renewals and council’s water supplies are currentlywell maintained and in sound condition. 220Stormwater assets include around 7km of piped mains, 5km of open drains and fourpump-stations. 221 Ōtorohanga District <strong>Council</strong>’s wastewater assets are currently wellmaintained and believed to be in sound condition. 222Wastewater assets include around 31km of pipelines, 12 pump stations and anoxidation pond/wetland wastewater treatment facility. 223 Ōtorohanga District <strong>Council</strong>’swastewater assets are currently well maintained and believed to be in sound conditionbut an upgrade of the Ōtorohanga wastewater treatment process may be required forrenewal of Ōtorohanga District <strong>Council</strong>’s discharge consent. 224Rotorua District <strong>Council</strong>Water supply assets include nine sources, 16 pump stations, 22 reservoirs, 24,000connections and 688km of pipe work. 225Stormwater assets include 450m of lined channel, 87.9km of open channels, 742m ofoverland flowpaths, 230.4km of piped networks, two pump stations and three flooddetention dams. Stormwater pipes are mostly less than 50 years old. 226 The assetmanagement plan has a comprehensive renewal programme to maintain the serviceover its full lifecycle. 227Wastewater assets include one central wastewater treatment plant, one compostingplant, one land effluent disposal system, 68 pumping stations, 7,270 manholes, 418kmof sewer gravity and rising mains, 20,300 lateral connections. 228South <strong>Waikato</strong> District <strong>Council</strong>Water supply assets include four urban and two rural water supply networks, totallingover 200km of pipeline and six treatment plants. The network has an estimatedreplacement value of $42 million. A considerable amount is being spent on upgradingthe network because of an aging pipe network and new national water standards. 229There are stormwater systems in the four main centres with planned replacementsmanaged under the asset management plan.The wastewater treatment plants at Putaruru and Tokoroa are to be upgraded withinthe next 10 years to provide an improved treatment standard.
