Are you proposing to add any additional field positions to the NYSEG electricmeter technician positions?A. Yes. There are currently 35 electric meter technicians working in the 13 NYSEGDivision offices. Given the onset of new technology for electric metering (e.g.,time based rates, Smart Grid), NYSEG is proposing to create a small, mobilegroup of approximately four (4) experienced meter technician positions. Thesemeter technicians would be an extension of the Corporate Meter Lab and wouldreport directly to the meter engineer. They would be responsible for providingtraining and support to the rest of the meter technicians. Their expertise would bein high volume metering, particularly the Interchange Point metering. This groupwould be mobilized for special project work as well.Q. Are you proposing to add positions at any of the other departments within MeterServices?A.
