Hands and heartsUnder the patronage of HH Sheikha Hind <strong>Al</strong> Qassemi, Chairperson of EmiratesBusinesswomen Council, Majid <strong>Al</strong> Futtaim Fashion, the apparel retailing arm of Majid<strong>Al</strong> Futtaim Ventures, partnered with the <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> <strong>Training</strong> <strong>Centre</strong> <strong>for</strong> Children withSpecial Needs and created a plat<strong>for</strong>m to showcasethe skills of the students.The passionate collaboration has resultedin the creation of the ‘Hands & Hearts’ initiative,which aims to highlight the outstanding creativetalents of the <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> children and young adults,along with Majid <strong>Al</strong> Futtaim Fashion partners,through a fashion event and auction which washeld on 1st November <strong>2011</strong>. The fundraising eventwas patronized by HH Sheika Hind <strong>Al</strong> Qassemi, as the <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> <strong>Centre</strong> premises in <strong>Al</strong> Barsha.As part of the “Hands & Hearts” initiative,Majid <strong>Al</strong> Futtaim Fashion has worked with the <strong>Al</strong><strong>Noor</strong> students to design and produce a range ofproducts, including a Juicy Couture limited-editiontote bag, a range of clutch handbags, the newlylaunched IT’SUGAR branded t-shirts, and a limitedrange of luxury Jalabiyas <strong>for</strong> the fashion event andauction.A T-shirt with cookies bakedby the children of <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong>.Students of <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong> as the stars of the event.Paintings <strong>for</strong> auction.HH Sheikha Hind <strong>Al</strong> Qassemi as the honorary guest with ThorayaKamber <strong>Al</strong> Kamber <strong>Al</strong> Awadi enjoying the show.1

He recognized and appreciated the contribution of Adeeb Salman <strong>Al</strong> Balooshi who at the age of seven, invented a leg shoe <strong>for</strong> his disabled father. A painting competition was arranged to give an opportunity to students from manyschools, both mainstream and special needs, to express their creativity. Thestudents and were all dressed brightly in theUAE ag colours of red, green, white and black.The was hoisted with great ceremony by a group of enthusiastic students. A cake decorated with the UAE ag wascut in honour of the 40th year celebrations. The cakes weremade available courtesy of Modern Bakery and Hot Breads.Each unit had prepared a small entertainment programmeeducating us about the UAE. <strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong>Coffee Morningsat Smiles n’ stuffVOLUNTEERINTERACTIONPROGRAMME from Grand Millennium DubaiAparty to thank the volunteers of <strong>Al</strong><strong>Noor</strong> was held on 15th of June <strong>2011</strong>.Through the Volunteer InteractionProgramme, people from all walksof life generously donate their time and eort to<strong>Al</strong> <strong>Noor</strong>. Their dedication and commitmentmakes a big erence to the students of <strong>Al</strong><strong>Noor</strong>. The event was action packed from theword ‘Go!’ with fun games and sumptuous food!Grand Millennium Dubai generously sponsoredthe refreshments <strong>for</strong> the event.
