Mussel size is a general indicator ofhow long the lines have been in the water and can vary between individual lines within the same mussel farm. The highestUndaria infestation levels were generally seen on mussel lines with mussels larger than 50-60mm (Figure 8), which wouldhave been in the water for at least 5-7 months.14
