SECTION 10Cabling ConsiderationsKey Area 2 - The Master BedroomThe master bedroom will have two wall plates as a minimum - one wall plate for the TV and one wall plate for thetelephone. The TV wall plate will generally be located on the opposite side of the bedroom from the bed. This willenable the homeowner to watch TV in the bedroom in comfort as the TV is straight ahead. Most people these dayswill have a TV mounted on a TV bracket or on top of a dresser or even in a wardrobe.TV Wall PlatesAll TV wall plates should have a minimum of one RG6 Quad Shield CoaxCable and one data cable. The future in video distribution is over a categorycable for active devices such as subscription TV, DVDs and DVRs. Coaxwill still be used for free to air TV. Modulators are currently used for thedistribution of active devices.Telephone Wall PlatesTVDATAIn the master bedroom the telephone outlets are generally located next tothe bed on either side. You can have additional outlets for Internet access ifyou wish. Just install another cable from the <strong>Clipsal</strong> <strong>StarServe</strong> ® enclosure.TELKey Area 3 - Other BedroomsOther bedrooms are generally used by children. They do theirhomework in their bedroom and often when they get older they willhave a TV in their bedroom. When planning for other bedrooms weneed to make sure that we can have internet access, telephone accessand data network access to each room.TV TEL DATA<strong>Clipsal</strong> recommend a minimum of one TV and two data outlets for each other bedroom but you may considerinstalling a third data outlet for future use. SEE KEY AREA 4.Key Area 4 - Study/Other BedroomsThe study or home offi ce may require telephone, fax, internet, datanetworking and TV access. To make sure all services can be accessedwe need to make sure we have enough cables.TV TEL<strong>Clipsal</strong> recommend a minimum wall plate confi guration of one TV outletand three data outlets.
