I 'd like to thankeveryone who came out for the five club poker run and help support the 2011 ballcommittees fundraiser at Greg's Barbeque & Brew. Becky and I had the pleasure ofattending the Opening of the Island at Ford Yacht Club. Despite threatening weather,it turned out to be a beautiful day with a nice boat ride up there and back.Wouldn't it be great to have there clean water here in our area ? We also attendedCCYC'S regatta and reception. Again nice ride there and back. Could this be the waythings are going to go all summer on the lake? Sure hope so because our fleet captainhas a lot of fun cruises planned. If anyone has friends or family that might beinterested in joining the club, let me know and I will contact them. Till next monthsee you around the club and the water.Vice Commodore,Greg SnyirRear CommodoreDonald RogersReport from the Rear CommodoreJune is gone too soon and what a GREAT month we had!Opening of the port was the most time consuming event yet. We are so thankful for ourwonderful event team consisting of Lola Edens, Pat Gallagher, Mark & Tina Gensler,Debbie Gloriso, Carol Griffin, David Leffler, Art Linger, Wendy McAdams, Gary & SusanMeyer, Sandra Peer, Janet Ritter, Sarah Schuman, Patti Schafer, David Schafer andanyone I may have missed since this month is a blur to both Judi and I! For those whowere not able to stay and support this dinner, you missed a Great Meal. The team & Judiprepared Turkey Tetrazzini from scratch and it was the best ever, not to mention the greatsalad & dessert too. Dinners served 120 complaints 0. Some trivia -"Turkey Tetrazziniis an American pasta dish that includes a cream sauce, mushrooms, and either chicken, turkey, or seafood. It is thought to have been invented in San Francisco and named afterthe famous opera singer of the early 1900's, Luisa Tetrazzini, she lived there for manyyears". From the planning of the meal by Judi & Lola with her special touch, to the mealprep & decorating on the Thursday before by Judi, Lola, Carol, David L., Sandra, Janet, Deb, Pattie S., cooking ,set up, serving, & clean up on Saturday by the entire team - Judi & I are eternally grateful! ! ! The team wouldnot allow neither Judi or I in the galley on Saturday - they insisted we enjoy our part and responsibility for BVYCas R/C and his Lady. What a TERRRIFIC TEAM! ! !
