CITY OF TUKWILA: 2012 CAFRBASIC FINANCIAL STATEMENTSMAJOR PROPRIETARY FUNDSENTERPRISE FUNDSThe City's enterprise funds are used to account for operations that are financed andoperated in a manner similar to private business operations. The goods andservices these funds provide to the general public are primarily financed by servicecharges. Enterprise funds are self-supporting and use the accrual method ofaccounting. Tukwila has four major enterprise funds.Water Utility FundThis fund accounts for all maintenance, construction, and debt service requirementsassociated with the water system.Sewer Utility FundThis fund accounts for all maintenance, construction, and debt service requirementsassociated with the sanitary sewer system.Foster Golf Course FundAccounts for services, maintenance, operations, and debt service requirementsassociated with the Foster Golf Course.Surface Water Utility FundThis fund accounts for the maintenance, construction and debt service requirementsof Tukwila's storm drainage system.41
