SHEEP AUCTIONEERSTEVE PROUSE 07767 895366332 DRAFT EWESLarger entry met a strong trade from start to finish. Top on the day was£80 sold by Messrs James Eustice Farms of St Ervan.1225 BREEDING EWESLargest entry of breeding ewes seen here for many years, with a largecrowd of prospective buyers present, resulting in a faster trade for all onoffer. Several pens over £120 and selling to a top of £125 for 2 pens ofSuffolk x 2T from Mr J May from St Merryn. Hill ewes very much soughtafter saw just over 130 Speckled FM ewes from Messrs Abel Bros ofTavistock with 3 pens over £80 and to a top of £82. A good run of NorthCountry Mule ewe lambs from Mr R S Robson of Bolventor met a strongtrade with the top pen being £98 and the running lambs at £70.84 PRIME LAMBSSmaller entry met a firm trade for all weights. Top per kilo being 166pfor a pen of 43.6kgs from Mr G Horwell of Boscastle. Top per head was£75 for a pen of 45.4kgs from Mr J Wilson of St Kew.458 STORE LAMBSGood entry met a total clearance with many pens of £64 and selling to atop price of £68.50 sold by Mr G B Wilson from Bolventor.65 STOCK RAMSA faster trade for all rams with 8 rams over £350 and selling to a top of£400 for a Suffolk Shearling from Mr J M Merritt from Advent.


PRIME CATTLE & CULL COW AUCTIONEERPATRICK DENNIS 07831 620990PRIME CATTLE & CULL COWSA good entry of prime cattle selling on a strengthening trade, with plenty ofdemand for all on offer. A 28 month old Simmental x heifer weighing 715kgsrealised 192ppk (£1372.80) on behalf of Messrs E J Hawken & Co of Rock, withanother Charolais x steer from the same vendor coming back at £1326.75(183ppk), followed by a Limousin x steer at £1242 (180ppk) again from MessrsHawken. Mr L H Smith from Altarnun had a nice Simmental x heifer which soldwell to realise 184ppk (£1343.20)A mixed entry of cull cows, with many more being required to meet demand. Thetop call was 136ppk for a Simmental x cow from Messrs A R & J M Gill from Looe,followed by a Simmental x cow from Messrs S P Gubbin & Son from Boyton at124ppk. Messrs A R & J M Gill fromLooe saw their best Charolais x steer make £1235. In the Friesian section the topprice was recorded at £1190 for a steer from Mr W H Pedlar with other youngersteers to £915 on behalf of Mr W H Dangar from Tintagel and Limousin x steerssaw a top price of £1105 for a smart 20 month old from Mrs L Rowe of Cardinham,


with younger Limousin x steers from the same vendor making £1065 and furtherbunches to £905. A bunch of strong British Blue x steers sold to a top at £1110 onbehalf of Messrs D Philp & Son of Looe and Mr W H Pedlar saw the best bunch ofhis Blue steers make £1000. Hereford x steers also sold well with the best bunchof 7 from Messrs R R Sanders & Son from Par make £1045.The heifer section was topped by a strong Charolais x heifer making £1130 onbehalf of Mr W H Pedlar with another at £1120 for the same vendor. British Blue xheifers sold to £1085 from Messrs D Philp & Son.
