He was the keynotespeaker for the seminar based on which the presentspecial issue was compiled.Avadhesh K. Singh is presently the Vice-Chancellor of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University at Ahmedabad.Earlier he was Professor and Head at the Department ofEnglish at Saurashtra University, Rajkot. He is a wellknowncritic who has edited several scholarly volumes,besides writing extensively on Comparative IndianLiterature and Translation Studies.Chandrani Chatterjee has been a doctoral student of theHumanities department of Indian Institute of Science,Mumbai. Currently she is on a teaching assignment in theDepartment of English at the University of Poona. Shespecializes in Translation Studies.Debendra K. Dash teaches Oriya at Ispat College at Rourkela,Orissa. He is the editor of the complete works of FakirMohan Senapati and Gangadhar Meher. He has received theKshetrabagi Sahitya Vidya Puraskar for excellence inliterature.
