Tate Access Floors Graduate Development ProgramAccess FloorsAccess or raised floors are typically 2 ft square panels made ofsteel or concrete that are elevated on structural pedestals abovea buildings concrete floor slab to allow for electrical, mechanicaland HVAC service distribution underneath. Similar to a dropceiling used to conceal service distribution material from abuildings occupant an access floor serves the same purposewhile also creating alternative more sustainable methods ofservice distribution.The main markets for access floors are in commercial hi-riseoffices, educational facilities, libraries, casinos, courthouses, callcenters, data centers, and clean rooms.
