The Secretary of Stateis authorized to print the Register and distribute copies to the GeneralAssembly, State departments, Georgia high schools, and units of theUniversity System.Readers of this edition of the Georgia Official and StatisticalRegister will note some significant changes in format and content fromthe 1981-82 edition. Election results, except for special elections, havebeen reproduced on microfiche and appear as an insert on the back cover.The cost and space savings realized by this use of microfiche have enabledus to include much historical information and, generally, to provideGeorgians with a more comprehensive publication about Georgia and itsgovernment.This Register is an essential reference work for anyone interestedin the operation of Georgia State government.
