CONFERENCE RESULTSConference RESULTSN<strong>in</strong>e Conference Titles Claimed by Florida<strong>in</strong> <strong>2012</strong>–<strong>13</strong>A league-record of eight team titles led theUniversity of Florida athletics program to asweep of the <strong>2012</strong>–<strong>13</strong> Halifax Media Group’sSoutheastern Conference All-Sports titles. It isthe <strong>13</strong>th time the <strong>Gator</strong> program has taken thethree titles and UF is the only school to collectall three <strong>in</strong> a s<strong>in</strong>gle season.Florida claimed SEC titles <strong>in</strong> men’s basketball,women’s cross country, gymnastics, soccer,softball, men’s swimm<strong>in</strong>g & div<strong>in</strong>g, women’s tennisand volleyball. That equaled the league record oftitles <strong>in</strong> a s<strong>in</strong>gle season set by Florida <strong>in</strong> 1991–92and equaled <strong>in</strong> 2010–11. Georgia also turned <strong>in</strong>eight league w<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong> 2005–06. The <strong>Gator</strong>s now own52 titles s<strong>in</strong>ce the 2003–04 academic year, the mostby any conference school dur<strong>in</strong>g the 10-year span.One other conference crown was won by the<strong>Gator</strong>s <strong>in</strong> 20<strong>13</strong>, as Florida’s newest team claimeda share of the American Lacrosse Conferencecrown <strong>in</strong> 20<strong>13</strong>—the third consecutive ALC titlefor the four-year program.The overall SEC All-Sports title is the 23rd forFlorida, while the <strong>Gator</strong> program also earned its20th women’s and 17th men’s titles. UF has wonall but three of the last 26 overall titles.This was the second year for the Halifax MediaGroup to award the SEC All-Sports Trophy. TheNew York Times Regional Newspaper Group gavethe awards from the 1994–95 through 2010–11seasons. Prior to that, the league tabulated theSEC All-Sports totals.10Ten SEC or ALC Playerof the <strong>Year</strong>/Athlete ofthe <strong>Year</strong> awards wentto <strong>Gator</strong>s <strong>in</strong> <strong>2012</strong>–<strong>13</strong>.SoftballMen’s Swimm<strong>in</strong>g & DIVINGFlorida is the onlyleague school to passthe double centurymark <strong>in</strong> total SECtitles.
