Freshman Bridget Sloan won both the all-around andbalance beam titles <strong>in</strong> NCAA competition. The SEC annually selects an Academic HonorRoll for each team that recognizes student-athletes whohave posted cumulative 3.0 grade-po<strong>in</strong>t averages for theprevious academic year. When Florida’s selections for theSEC First-<strong>Year</strong> Academic Honor Roll are added, a total of242 <strong>Gator</strong>s earned recognition by the league <strong>in</strong> <strong>2012</strong>–<strong>13</strong>for their work <strong>in</strong> the classroom.UF is the only SEC school to place 100 or more studentathleteson the Academic Honor Roll each of the last16 years.Two <strong>Gator</strong>s were named the SEC Scholar-Athlete ofthe <strong>Year</strong> for their sport—Elizabeth Beisel (swimm<strong>in</strong>g)and Patric Young (basketball).
