All-Sports RankingsYEAR IN REVIEW 2012–201362012–2013 NATIONALALL-SPORTS RANKINGSA dozen top-10 finishes in national championship action—including a pair of NCAA team titles—led the Universityof Florida athletics program to its second consecutivesecond-place finish in the 2012–13 Learfield SportsDirectors’ Cup standings. The finish matches Florida’shighest ever in the annual all-sports rankings and marksFlorida’s fifth consecutive top-four finish in the rankings.The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup, presented annuallyby the nation’s athletics directors, recognizes theschools with the best overall sports performances inan academic year. Points are awarded based on finishesand participation in 20 NCAA Division I sports. The16.5 point margin between first and second is the closestin the 21-year history of the Directors’ Cup.Gymnastics and men’s outdoor track & field claimed NCAAtitles in 2013. Florida became the fifth program to win aNCAA gymnastics team title at the national championshipmeet held in April in Los Angeles. The Gator men’s track& field claimed a share of its second consecutive NCAAOutdoor title, surging to the top with three event wins onthe meet’s final day.Florida’s 12 top-10 national team finishes in 2012–13matches the third-highest in school history, as at least10 Gator teams have turned in top-10 finishes in eachof the last 12 seasons.
