s Water SafariPhoto by Teresa VanBoovenPhoto by Tommy HillPhoto by Tommy HillOn Saturday, June 9, about 135 paddlers and kayakers hopped in the watersof the San Marcos River near the former Aquarena Springs Center for the startof the 50th Texas Water Safari — the world’s toughest canoe race.When all was said and done, after more than 99 hours of paddling, 94 of theoriginal 135 entrants finished the race.The first boat arrived at the finish line in Seadrift, Texas, in 38 hours and30 minutes.
