Power SwitchThe power to <strong>the</strong> Printer Attachment is controlled by ON/OFF switch on <strong>the</strong> 5024 stand.In order for <strong>the</strong> printer to be ready, this switch must be ON.PRINTER CHECK LightRead forms parameter and examine bits 0-7 of <strong>the</strong> diagnostic status word to determine<strong>the</strong> error condition.FORMS CHECK IndicatorsRead forms parameter and examine bits 8-15 of <strong>the</strong> diagnostic status word to determine<strong>the</strong> error condition.READY IndicatorThis indicates that <strong>the</strong> printer is ready to execute system commands. The READY indicatorcan come, on with no forms in <strong>the</strong> printer. It will go off after a print command is issued.ENABLE/DISABLE SwitchThis switch must be in <strong>the</strong> ENABLE position to enable system control of <strong>the</strong> printer.When <strong>the</strong> switch is in ENABLE and <strong>the</strong>re are no check conditions, <strong>the</strong> ready indicatorwill be ON. If <strong>the</strong> switch is turned to DISABLE during a print operation, <strong>the</strong> printerwill complete <strong>the</strong> current line and <strong>the</strong>n stop. If <strong>the</strong> carriage is moving when <strong>the</strong>switch is also used to reset any error lights. Turn switch from ENABLE to DISABLE andback to ENABLE to reset errors.SPACE KeyThis key is active only when <strong>the</strong> printer is in <strong>the</strong> not ready state. Pressing <strong>the</strong> keycauses <strong>the</strong> carriage to space <strong>the</strong> forms one line. This switch will also cause <strong>the</strong>electronic VFC to increment by one. To multiple space, hold this key down.RESTORE KeyThe carriage restore key causes <strong>the</strong> carriage to be positioned at line one when <strong>the</strong>printer is not ready. If <strong>the</strong> cover is open, only <strong>the</strong> electronic VFC will be set toline one. If <strong>the</strong> cover is closed, both <strong>the</strong> electronic VFC and <strong>the</strong> forms will move toline one. To multiple restore, hold this key down.To align <strong>the</strong> forms, <strong>the</strong> operator manually adjusts <strong>the</strong> paper to <strong>the</strong> first line on<strong>the</strong> form <strong>the</strong>n with <strong>the</strong> cover open, presses <strong>the</strong> carriage restore key. This adjusts <strong>the</strong>electronic VFC to line one.
