The four functions of keyboard entry, print, tape read, and tape punch are controlledby separate I/O commands.Since the operator station is used for only relatively short periods of time, the motorin the operator station can be turned off and on by program control. This interrelationship results inan interruption request that may occur from several microseconds to more than fourseconds after the command has been issued. Therefore, the programmer is cautionedagainst using time-dependent code.Note: This interruption request will occur even if the operator station motor is turnedoff at the operator station, or if the operator station power is turned off by the powerswitch.Condition code 2 is returned if the operator station adapter is busy or has an interruptionpending.
