Students will gain valuable and requiredfield experience offered through the Basic Life Support (BLS) Field Internshiprotations which start in the Fall semester. Coupled with acompliment of EMT-related seminars and general studies courses, studentsare set up for success in meeting the eligibility requirements for theparamedic component of the program and are prepared to complete acurriculum that takes them all the way to an Associate Degree in ParamedicEmergency Medicine and a career as a Paramedic.Completion of this track does not guarantee admission to the ParamedicEmergency Medicine program. High school graduate or GED;2. Age 18 by September 1st of admission year;3. EMT certification required; must be certified by the beginningof fall semester as an EMT;4. High school level courses in Biology and Chemistry (withlabs), completed with grades of “C” or higher;5. Algebra I completed with a grade of “C” or higher or <strong>NHTI</strong>’sMT 103 and MT 104 both with grades of “C” or higher;6. Students who anticipate taking more time to complete the program are strongly encouraged to consult with their department head at thetime of registration each semester to ensure that prerequisite requirements are met and course selection is appropriate.47
