Studentswho complete this program have the basic skills and knowledge to workeffectively with all students in public school classrooms, including thosestudents identified with special needs.The degree of Associate in Science with a major in Education isawarded upon successful completion of the program. By offering abroad range of courses, the Program prepares graduates to beParaeducators or to transfer their credits to baccalaureate degree-grantinginstitutions to pursue a career in teaching or counseling.All students in the ASEd program are expected to achieve a minimumpassing score stipulated by the NH Department of Education onthe PRAXIS I exam. Those students who intend to transfer to one ofthe colleges in the University System of NH must achieve a minimumGPA of 2.7 in addition to passing the PRAXIS I exam.<strong>NHTI</strong> has transfer affiliations with baccalaureate degree-grantinginstitutions.
