Brenda was a faculty member in the Diagnostic Medical SonographyProgram at New Hampshire Technical Institute. This is awarded to agraduating senior who exemplifies the qualities that Brenda exhibited.Chester W. French ScholarshipThe Chester W. French Scholarship Program offers a scholarship forincoming freshman who have recently graduated from John Stark RegionalHigh School and are accepted into any of the engineering technologyprograms at <strong>NHTI</strong>. Priority is given to students who have successfullycompleted a Project Lead the Way course.Coca-Cola Two-Year <strong>College</strong>s Scholarship (up to $1000)This is a nationwide scholarship that targets students who havecompleted a substantial amount of community service. <strong>NHTI</strong> selectstwo nominees to formally apply for the scholarship. The applicationdeadline is usually in March. Criteria include:• be a current <strong>NHTI</strong> student planning to enroll in at least twocourses at <strong>NHTI</strong> during the next semester;• have a minimum 2.5 GPA;• have completed and documented substantial communityservice hours within the previous 12 months;• be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident;• may not be a son or daughter of a Coca-Cola employee.Concord Business & Professional Women’s Club:• student must be a female taking business courses and interestedin entering the business field;• applications must be submitted by April 30th to the ConcordBusiness and Professional Women’s Association.Concord Dental SocietyThis grant is awarded to students who are enrolled in Dental Hygieneor Dental Assisting at <strong>NHTI</strong>. The grant is repaid by renderingtwelve months of service to an office that is a member of the ConcordDental Society; otherwise, the grant becomes a loan, which must berepaid.Dr. Peter Atwood MemorialThis award was established in the memory of Peter Atwood by hisfamily. The award will benefit students in the Radiologic TechnologyProgram at New Hampshire Technical Institute.*#Earl H. Little Scholarship AwardThis award was established in the memory of Earl H. Little by hisfamily. A pioneer for vocational/technical education in the State of NewHampshire, Mr. Little is considered to be one of the founders of NewHampshire Technical Institute and its engineering technology programs.This scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time engineering technologyfreshman with the highest grade point average.Early Childhood Education Scholarship ProgramNH <strong>Community</strong> Technical <strong>College</strong>s partner with the NH Departmentof Health & Human Services to offer tuition assistance to child careproviders who are entering or are currently in the field of Early Care andEducation. If you provide family child care, or work at least part time ina child care setting in New Hampshire, you may be eligible to receive12tuition assistance for Early Childhood Education courses offered throughthe NHCTC. Sweeney, Jr. Scholarship:• student with a visible and permanent walking disability;• must be a NH resident who graduated from a NH high school;• award will be used to defray tuition expenses.*Electronic Engineering Technology/Computer EngineeringTechnology ScholarshipThis award was established on behalf of a former Electronic andComputer Engineering Technology faculty member at New HampshireTechnical Institute. It is awarded yearly to one outstanding student ineach program.*Governor’s Success GrantAwards are based on merit and financial need as determined by theresults of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). TheGovernor’s Success Grant is awarded, based on the availability of funds,to students who meet the following criteria:• New Hampshire residents;• minimum 2.5 GPA;• must have completed freshman year;• enrolled full-time for the upcoming fall semester.Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship (up to $30,000)This is a very competitive, nationwide scholarship specifically targetingstudents who will be transferring to four-year institutions. <strong>NHTI</strong>selects two nominees to formally apply for the scholarship. The applicationdeadline is in early February. Criteria include:• have completed freshman credits by December;• have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher;• be transferring to an accredited 4-year institution in the comingfall semester;• selections will be made by the Cooke Scholarship Board basedon the above and• academic achievement and intelligence;• financial need;• leadership and public service;• potential to make a significant contribution toapplicant’s field of study and/or society;• appreciation for/participation in the arts and humanities.*#Kara Philbrick Memorial Scholarship ($500):• female student;• exceptional attitude and work ethic;• desire and ability to succeed;• completed one year of study;• preference given to students in the Travel and Tourism program.*#Marshall Snyder Memorial FundThis award was established in the memory of Marshall Snyder by hisfamily. Marshall taught chemistry, materials science and physics at NewHampshire Technical Institute from 1965-1984. It is the wish of thefamily to honor the type of student Marshall enjoyed the most-a studentwho performed well in the laboratory sessions of courses. This scholarshipis open to any <strong>NHTI</strong> student who meets the following criteria:• is currently a full-time student or is following a three-yearprogram;• has taken, or is taking a credit-bearing physical science classthat has a laboratory component. Physical science courses includechemistry and physics;• maintains a GPA of 2.5.
