156 <strong>Report</strong> <strong>NGV</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2003</strong>/<strong>04</strong>Availability <strong>of</strong> additional informationThe following information relating to the <strong>NGV</strong>, relevantto the financial year, has been prepared and is availableto the Minister, Members <strong>of</strong> Parliament and the publicon request:• Declarations <strong>of</strong> pecuniary interests duly completed byall relevant <strong>of</strong>ficers• Details <strong>of</strong> publications produced by the <strong>NGV</strong> aboutthe <strong>NGV</strong> and the places where the publicationscan be obtained• Details <strong>of</strong> changes in prices, fees, charges, rates andlevies charged by the <strong>NGV</strong>• Details <strong>of</strong> any major external reviews carried outon the <strong>NGV</strong>• Details <strong>of</strong> overseas visits undertaken including asummary <strong>of</strong> the objectives and outcomes <strong>of</strong> each visit• Details <strong>of</strong> major promotional, public relations andmarketing activities undertaken by the <strong>NGV</strong> todevelop community awareness <strong>of</strong> the <strong>NGV</strong> and theservices it provides• Details <strong>of</strong> assessments and measures undertakento improve the occupational health and safety <strong>of</strong>employees• A general statement on industrial relations withinthe <strong>NGV</strong> and details <strong>of</strong> time lost through industrialaccidents and disputes• A list <strong>of</strong> major committees sponsored by the <strong>NGV</strong>, thepurposes <strong>of</strong> each committee and the extent to whichthe purposes have been achievedHealth and safetyThe Council <strong>of</strong> Trustees and management <strong>of</strong> the <strong>NGV</strong>place a high priority on the health and safety <strong>of</strong> theirstaff members. The Occupational Health and SafetyCommittee met on six occasions. New initiativesincluded:• Safety and evacuation training for staff to coincidewith the move to <strong>NGV</strong> International at St Kilda Road• Commissioned an Occupational and Safety RiskManagement Plan for all <strong>NGV</strong> sitesThe Committee undertook a vigorous educationprogram. 36 days were lost as a result <strong>of</strong> work relatedaccidents compared to 65 days in 2002/03.Privacy<strong>NGV</strong> has complied with all requirements under theInformation Privacy Act 2000. For the 12 monthsending 30 June 20<strong>04</strong> there were no complaintsagainst the <strong>NGV</strong> in relation to breaches <strong>of</strong> privacy.Whistleblowers Protection Act 2001This section <strong>of</strong> the report contains information that isrequired to be published annually under section 1<strong>04</strong> <strong>of</strong>the Whistleblowers Protection Act 2001 (‘the Act’).a) The current procedures established by the <strong>NGV</strong>under <strong>Part</strong> 6 <strong>of</strong> the Act can be found directly below;b) The <strong>NGV</strong> has received no disclosures duringthe year;c) The <strong>NGV</strong> has not referred any disclosures to theOmbudsman for determination as to whether they arepublic interest disclosures during the year;d) The Ombudsman has not referred any disclosedmatters to the <strong>NGV</strong> during the year;e) The <strong>NGV</strong> has not referred any disclosed matters tothe Ombudsman to investigate during the year;f) The Ombudsman has not taken over anyinvestigation <strong>of</strong> disclosed matters from the <strong>NGV</strong>during the year;g) The <strong>NGV</strong> has made no request under section 74 <strong>of</strong>the Act to the Ombudsman to investigate disclosedmatters during the year;h) The <strong>NGV</strong> has not declined to investigate a disclosedmatter during the year;i) There have been no disclosed matters that weresubstantiated on investigation. There has been noaction required to be undertaken arising from aninvestigation, since there have been no investigations;andj) The Ombudsman has not made any recommendationunder the Act that relates to the <strong>NGV</strong><strong>NGV</strong> Whistleblowers Procedures1. Statement <strong>of</strong> support to whistleblowersThe <strong>NGV</strong> is committed to the aims and objectives <strong>of</strong>the Whistleblowers Protection Act 2001. It does nottolerate improper conduct by its employees, or thetaking <strong>of</strong> reprisals against those who come forward todisclose such conduct.The <strong>NGV</strong> recognises the value <strong>of</strong> transparency andaccountability in its administrative and management
