102 Acquire & Lend <strong>NGV</strong> <strong>Annual</strong> <strong>Report</strong> <strong>2003</strong>/<strong>04</strong><strong>2003</strong>/<strong>04</strong> was a significant year for acquiring importantworks which enhance the Collection. It was also a busy 12months for outward loans, as many <strong>of</strong> the <strong>NGV</strong>'s artworkstravelled to regional <strong>Victoria</strong>, interstate, and to internationaldestinations. The opening <strong>of</strong> <strong>NGV</strong> International deliveredexciting new gallery spaces, and this proved a catalyst forfurther developing our international collection. Our communitycontinued its generous financial support <strong>of</strong> the <strong>NGV</strong>'sacquisition policies and the broader objective <strong>of</strong> growing theCollection for current and future generations to enjoy.
