78 The Changeless Nature174 The causes of freedom from these two veilsare the two jnanas, considered as beingthe non-conceptual jnana and the ensuing jnana.175 Like a lake of purest watergradually overspread by lotuses.Like the full moonset free from Rahu's mouth, and like the sunliberated from the banked defilement clouds -This is radiantly manifestbeing stainless and of all qualities possessed.176 Such buddhahood is like the Victor, the best of all, like the honey, the kernels, the gold, so valuable, the treasure, the great tree, the image of the Sugata, made of that which is precious and pure, like the monarch of the world and the statue of gold.177 Purity — no accidental defilements (desire and the others)is like the waters of the lake and so forth. In brief it is described as being the fruitof the non-conceptualising jnana.178 Authentic attainment of the buddhakayas, endowed with those qualities which are supreme of all,is taught as being the result of the jnana which ensues.179 This is like the lake of pure water and so onbecause the silt of desire has been removedand because it causes the waters of meditative stabilityto sustain the 'lotus' beings who are to be trained.
