68 <strong>The</strong> <strong>Changeless</strong> <strong>Nature</strong>150 From this twofold potential there isachievement of the three kayas of the buddha:the first kaya through the formerand the other two through the latter.151 <strong>The</strong> essence-kaya, magnificent,should be known as being similarto the statue made of precious substance,because that is natural and not-createdand it is a treasure of jewel qualities.152 <strong>The</strong> perfect expression is like the chakravartin,being endowed with the greater dharma's majesty.Like the golden image are the emanationshaving the very nature of a representation.153 This ultimate truth of the spontaneously-bornis to be understood through faith alone —<strong>The</strong> orb of the sun may shinebut it cannot be seen by the blind!154 <strong>The</strong>re is nothing whatever to remove from this,Nor the slightest thing thereon to add.Truly beholding the true nature —when truly seen — complete liberation.155 <strong>The</strong> buddha nature is devoid of any affect —such an intrinsic characteristicwould be completely foreign.Yet it is not devoid of the supreme qualities,whose intrinsic characteristicsare indifferentiable from its domain.156 He had taught in various placesthat every knowable thing is ever void,like a cloud, a dream or an illusion.<strong>The</strong>n why did the Buddha declarethe essence of buddhahood to be therein every sentient being?
