Buddha Nature 43Ca. This buddha-nature is not product of the waters of karma,negative affects and so on. It will never be singed by the cruelfires of ageing, sickness and death.Cb. One should know that the three fires — of death, sickness andageing — are respectively similar to the fire at the end oftime 23 , hell-fire and ordinary fire.In the Phase of Partial Purity — Realised BodhisattvasSynopsisBeyond birth, ageing, sickness and death, they have realised thetrue nature, precisely as it is. Even though they are free from themiseries of birth and so on, because the wise have this realisation ofthe true nature and therefore have awakened compassion for sentientbeings, they demonstrate birth, ageing, sickness and death.Detailed Presentation - GeneralThese deeply-realised bodhisattvas have removed the sufferings ofageing, sickness and death by their very root. They no longer havethese sufferings because their manifestation is not brought about bykarma and the negative affects.Because they have seen the truth, just as it is, then, since theirvery nature is compassion, they manifest birth, ageing, sickness anddeath, even though they have transcended these.1st level bodhisattvasThus even those blinded by ignorance can see those sons of thevictors 24 who have understood this changeless true nature. They seethem as having birth etc. This fact is indeed wonderful!Those who have reached the domain of the deeply-realised 25manifest within the subjective range of experience of the spirituallyimmature. Therefore the skilful means and compassion of these,excellent friends for sentient beings, are truly excellent.
