32 The Changeless Nature29 The meaning intended by 'the ultimate space'should be known through its nature,cause, result, function, endowments,approach, phases, all-pervasiveness,inalterability and the qualities' inseparability.30 Like the purity of a jewel, space or waterIt is always undefiled in essence.It emerges through aspiration for dharma,highest prajna, meditation and compassion.31 Its qualities resemble thoseof a valued gem because it is powerful,of space because it is inalterableand of water because it moistens.32 Hostility towards the dharma,the view that there is a self-entity,fear of samsara's sufferingsand disregard for benefitting beingsare the four sorts of obscuration33 of the desire-bound, the mistaken,sravakas and pratyekabuddhas respectively.The causes of purification are four qualities:strong aspiration for dharma and so on.
