Why It Surpasses ThemGenerosity brings affluence, right conduct leads one to the higherstates, meditative stability removes the coarser defilements but prajnaremoves all defilements and the cognitive obscuration. Therefore thisprajna is the most excellent thing; its cause is to study such teachingsas this.IE. Fuller Explanation of Its QualitiesOne Will Attain EnlightenmentThis presence of buddha nature, what it becomes (enlightenment),its qualities, and the accomplishment of the good of others — thesefour points are the domain of the perfect knowledge of buddhas, asexplained.Through faith in these, in the fact of this presence of buddhanature, it being the power to achieve buddhahood and endowed withqualities from which spring activity, the wise are quickly ripe forachieving tathagatahood.It Fosters BodhicittaThrough faith, one believes this inconceivable domain to bepresent in oneself and others, that enlightenment is achievable by'someone like me' and, that once attained it has such qualities and thepower to help others.Therefore is bodhicitta ever-present in them as the vessel for thequalities of earnest aspiration, joyful endeavour, mindfulness,meditative stability, prajna and the others.
