The Chemical Engineering program at the Petroleum Instituteis designed to provide students with a rigorous educationin the fundamentals of engineering science, and specifictraining in applications of chemical engineering in theoil and gas industries. The program features two summerinternships in industry which provide students with significantexposure to the petroleum processing industries inthe Middle East and elsewhere in the world.Currently the Chemical Engineering program offers a degreeprogram leading to the Bachelor of Science degree(BSc) in Chemical Engineering. The program also offersa degree leading to the Master of Engineering (MEng).Advanced studies leading to the Master of Science (MSc)and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees are planned forthe future.The field of Chemical Engineering deals with the scienceand engineering of chemical reactions and chemical separations.Accordingly, the degree program begins with basicاهلندسة الكيميائيةصمم برنامج الهندسة الكيميائية يف املعهد البرتويل لريكز عىل تعليمالطالب القواعد األساسية لهذا العلم مع الرتكيز عىل تطبيقاته يفصناعتي الغاز و التفط.‏و ميتاز هذا الربنامج بالتدريب الصيفي يف الصناعات ذات العالقةليمنح الطالب فرصة التعرف عن قرب عىل العمليات البرتولية يفالرشق األوسط و العامل.‏مينح القسم درجة البكالوريوس يف العلوم،‏ من الهندسة الكيميائيةإضافة اىل ماجستري الهندسة.‏ إضافة إىل ذلك يجرى اإلعداد لطرحبرنامج املاجستري يف العلوم و الدكتوراة يف املستقبل القريب.‏يهتم مجال الهندسة الكيميائية باألسس العلمية و الهندسيةللتفاعالت و طرق الفصل الكيميائية،‏ و عىل هذا األساس فقد تمتصميم الربنامج ليقدم بداية مساقات أساسية يف علم الكيمياءالعضوية و الفيزيائية إضافة إىل الدينامكية الحرارية للسوائل.‏يستمر الربنامج بعد ذلك يف تقديم املساقات املتعلقة بأساسياتالهندسة الكيميائية.‏ ليشمل مقررات متقدمة يف ديناميكية السوائل،‏Chemical Engineeringstudies in chemistry, including organic and physical chemistry,and the thermodynamic properties of fluids. The programcontinues with courses in basic chemical engineeringcalculations and advanced courses in fluid mechanics,mass and heat transfer, and transport phenomena.
