The <str<strong>on</strong>g>Committee</str<strong>on</strong>g> agreed to establish an electr<strong>on</strong>ic Work<strong>in</strong>g Group to: (i) rec<strong>on</strong>sider the exist<strong>in</strong>gmaximum levels with a focus <strong>on</strong> foods important for <strong>in</strong>fants and children and also <strong>on</strong> the canned fruitsand vegetables and (ii) rec<strong>on</strong>sider if other exist<strong>in</strong>g maximum levels should be addressed.97. The electr<strong>on</strong>ic Work<strong>in</strong>g Group will be led by the United States <strong>of</strong> America, will work <strong>in</strong>English <strong>on</strong>ly and be open to all <str<strong>on</strong>g>Codex</str<strong>on</strong>g> members and observers.Maximum levels for mercury <strong>in</strong> natural m<strong>in</strong>eral water and salt (food grade) and guidel<strong>in</strong>e levelsfor methylmercury <strong>in</strong> fish and predatory fish <strong>in</strong> the General Standard for C<strong>on</strong>tam<strong>in</strong>ants andTox<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong> <strong>Food</strong> and Feed and the related Code <strong>of</strong> Practice for Source Directed Measures to ReduceC<strong>on</strong>tam<strong>in</strong>ati<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong><strong>Food</strong>s</strong> with Chemicals98. The <str<strong>on</strong>g>Committee</str<strong>on</strong>g> also agreed to c<strong>on</strong>sider the need to review the exist<strong>in</strong>g GLs formethylmercury <strong>in</strong> fish and predatory fish when the full report <strong>of</strong> the Jo<strong>in</strong>t FAO/WHO ExpertC<strong>on</strong>sultati<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong> the Risks and Benefits <strong>of</strong> Fish C<strong>on</strong>sumpti<strong>on</strong> becomes available.Perchlorate99. The <str<strong>on</strong>g>Committee</str<strong>on</strong>g> agreed that no follow-up was necessary s<strong>in</strong>ce no health c<strong>on</strong>cern wasidentified at current estimated levels <strong>of</strong> exposure from food and dr<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g water.Chlor<strong>in</strong>e-c<strong>on</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g dis<strong>in</strong>fectants <strong>in</strong> food producti<strong>on</strong> and process<strong>in</strong>g100. The <str<strong>on</strong>g>Committee</str<strong>on</strong>g> took note <strong>of</strong> the report <strong>of</strong> the Jo<strong>in</strong>t FAO/WHO Expert Meet<strong>in</strong>g <strong>on</strong> theBenefits and Risks <strong>of</strong> the Use <strong>of</strong> Chlor<strong>in</strong>e-c<strong>on</strong>ta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g Dis<strong>in</strong>fectants <strong>in</strong> <strong>Food</strong> Producti<strong>on</strong> and Process<strong>in</strong>gand agreed that no further acti<strong>on</strong> was necessary.Other Matters101. The <str<strong>on</strong>g>Committee</str<strong>on</strong>g> noted that the JECFA Secretariat and the Chair <strong>of</strong> the CCCF would explorethe possibility to organize <strong>in</strong> c<strong>on</strong>juncti<strong>on</strong> with the next sessi<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong> the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Committee</str<strong>on</strong>g> a half day sem<strong>in</strong>ar<strong>on</strong> the methodologies followed by JECFA evaluati<strong>on</strong>s.102. The JECFA Secretariat <strong>in</strong>formed the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Committee</str<strong>on</strong>g> that WHO was f<strong>in</strong>aliz<strong>in</strong>g the update <strong>on</strong> thenew web-based system for data submissi<strong>on</strong> to the GEMS/<strong>Food</strong> Programme and that all submissi<strong>on</strong> <strong>of</strong>data (should be d<strong>on</strong>e to the GEMS/<strong>Food</strong> Programme. The JECFA Secretariat also <strong>in</strong>dicated thattra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>on</strong> how to submit such data will be provided by WHO. The exact venue and date would be determ<strong>in</strong>ed by the hostGovernment <strong>in</strong> c<strong>on</strong>sultati<strong>on</strong> with the <str<strong>on</strong>g>Codex</str<strong>on</strong>g> Secretariat.
